TOURISM AND SPORT IN NATURE
Stretching between the Dolada Mountain and the slope of Cansiglio, the Alpago valley is a very interesting area for the variety of green species and the presence of many animals. The return of predators (such as the lynx and the brown bear ) contributed to further enrich the local fauna, that already included eagles, capercaillies and many other permanent, migrant and passing birds. "Campus silens", i.e. silent plateau: in these forests you can enjoy a unique peaceful environment. Horses and cows graze free in the grass; deer, roe-deer and fallow-deer populate the forest. Beeches and fir-trees dominate the quiet forest we cam explore during summer and winter excursions, thus accessing a magic world far away from towns and traffic-jammed roads.
Particularly interesting sites: the archaeological site with palaeo-venetian findings in Pieve d’Alpago, the alchemist's house in Valdenoghér, the furnaces in the Montanés area and the Book house in S.Anna di Tambre.
