The Cansiglio is a basin-shaped plateau of the Carnia Prealps stretching between Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia (including the following provinces: Treviso, Belluno and Pordenone); its lowest point is at 898 m on sea level and is surrounded by mountains with an average height of 1300 m.

By car: either access the plateau from the south through the Crosetta valley to Vittorio Veneto (TV) or from the north through the Campon valley in the region of Alpago (BL).

By railway: leave the railway A27 at Vittorio Veneto sud or S. Croce – Fadalto in Alpago.

By train: the last stop is in Vittorio Veneto .

By plane: Venice airport is at 70 km distance.
